Carolin Gabor appointed CEO Movinx
We are excited to announce the appointment of Carolin Gabor as the new Chief Executive Officer of Movinx. She’ll join us as April 1, 2021.
Caro completes our leadership team and she will be leading the company with Sebastiaan Bongers, in the role of Chief Product Officer, and Andreas Roth, Chief Financial Officer. With passion, courage and an amazing team, they take on the challenge to revolutionize mobility insurance.
Caro will be responsible for the acceleration of Movinx’s expansion plans by engaging in cooperations with insurers across the globe, as well as partnering with more car manufacturers to bring Movinx’s innovative proposition to even more customers.
Carolin is an experienced entrepreneur. As former Managing Partner of finleap, a large fintech ecosystem, she was instrumental in developing new business models from scratch and supporting the successful growth of the finleap portfolio companies like Solarisbank, Clark or finleap connect. Her last company building project was co-founding Joonko AG, a financial aggregator enabling consumers to find the right banking and insurance products in a radically simple and data-driven way.
Before her time at finleap, she was CEO of TopTarif.de, a comparison platform, which she restructured and sold to Verivox GmbH. Subsequently, she became CEO of autohaus24.de, where she established additional business models and sold the company to Sixt Leasing AG. Carolin, originally from the banking industry, built a career as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Carolin comments on her new role:
“I am very excited to join Movinx and together with the team shape the future of mobility insurance.
“The insurance industry is still at the very beginning of being digitized and disrupted. In 2021, where we consume almost everything digitally, most insurance products are still sold via traditional distribution channels like brokers and agents.
“The future of mobility insurance needs to be radically simple and very convenient: buying the best fitting product should be as simple as ordering a taxi or buying shoes online. With more and more connected cars, shared and e-mobility we will have enough data to make the buying of mobility insurances a lot more convenient and tailored to customer needs. In the future, your connected device or car will know what’s best for you.
“Movinx, as a B2B2C model, has the best possible conditions to become successful: access to a large distribution partner like Daimler, committed investors to develop a superior offering accelerated by the deep know-how of Swiss Re, and a great diverse and entrepreneurial team.”
